2.0.1 Safe to install
Service Killer is an application specialized in halting background services, aiming to reduce power consumption by terminating unnecessary operations, including non-pre-installed services that users may wish to uninstall. Apart from the usual task killing capabilities that can be operated periodically, it offers the feature to execute actions triggered by specific events to initiate service stoppage.
- Supported Events:
- System startup completion
- Email reception (exclusive to DoCoMo)
- Application installation/update
The app also provides users with the ability to view running services that have been halted, along with an activity log display function. Service Killer exclusively stops services chosen by the user, meaning only services selected can be halted.
For a detailed application description, visit: Service Killer Description.
Despite the option to install on external (SD) media, automatic startup upon device boot is only supported in internal memory installations. Users are notified that some services protected by Android mechanisms might remain beyond the control of Service Killer. Additionally, services designed to auto-restart after being stopped might display as inactive temporarily within the app.
By stopping services, users risk affecting other apps or system functions. The use of Service Killer comes with this caveat.
About Permissions:
Permissions required by this application include:
- android.permission.INTERNET: Necessary for halting services under this permission and displaying ads.
- android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Utilized for ad display purposes.
- android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Enables automatic initiation at device startup.
Feedback and Support:
For bug reports, feature requests, or general inquiries, users are encouraged to reach out via email. A donation version without ads is also available for those satisfied with the app's performance.
Note: Users may experience delays in halted services restarting immediately due to the app's primary operation mode. Since Android’s mechanism may allow other apps to revive such services promptly, Service Killer might not address this delay. For a more in-depth explanation of how the application operates and its limitations, please refer to: Service Killer Details. For additional questions or requests, please contact support via email.
